Occupational Therapist Senior Practitioner
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join and lead alongside the Team Managers in the Short Term Independence Service (STIS Reablement) for Adults across Broxtowe, Gedling and Rushcliffe districts. This team of Social Workers, Community Care Officers and Occupational Therapists work closely with START Re-ablement services to support effective and efficient discharges from our hospitals, Intermediate Care and Assessment Bed Units, preventing unnecessary hospital admissions and promoting rehabilitation at home wherever possible.
As the Senior Practitioner you will need to demonstrate evidence of multi-disciplinary working with other agencies from health, voluntary and statutory sectors. You will have excellent IT skills and working knowledge and practical application of Health and Social Care Legislation with a strong value base of promoting choice and control, personalisation and self-directed support. Utilising Strength based goal setting, Risk assessing and implementation of SMART specific outcomes. An awareness of Adult Safeguarding and Mental Capacity is essential.
The role requires the Senior Practitioner to be instrumental in driving the Council’s strategic vision and operational policies such as the implementation of the Improving Lives programme, setting strong direction for the team to provide motivation to all to deliver high performance.
A strong commitment to CPD is required and a willingness to provide professional support and advice to colleagues in other departments and agencies, to build positive relationships and partnerships. You will be utilising your skills to manage performance and conduct, develop capabilities and support the team to deliver service requirements and standards of conduct as required by NCC, RCOT and HCPC. Supervisory experience is desirable.
We are looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years experience at band B level, preferably within an Adult Social Care setting and evidence of continuing professional development and HCPC registration.
A programme of induction, access to training and regular supervision will be provided to enhance career development and maintain professional and practice standards as set by the Council.
This post carries an authorised car user allowance or taxi service for disabled employees. A full driving licence is required along with access to a car in order to fulfill this role.
