This is an excellent opportunity to join the newly formed Regional Adoption Agency, Adoption East Midlands, and to make a positive contribution to supporting children and young people and their families following adoption order.

We are looking for suitably qualified and experienced HCPC registered social workers who have at least 3 years post qualifying experience, with excellent interpersonal and assessment skills. You will need to evidence an awareness and understanding of the lifelong nature of adoption and the on-going need for post adoption support services to adoptive families caring for children with complex needs. You will be joining an established team of social workers who specialise in providing a timely response to families who require information and guidance as well as an Assessment of their Adoption Support Needs throughout the life course to support their ability to parent their children therapeutically. In addition, support is provided to Adopted Adults through Birth Records Counselling. It is essential that you are IT literate and ideally have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Given the nature of the role, a valid driving licence and access to a car is also essential.

The successful candidates will be also expected to contribute to improving outcomes for children and families and understand the concept of safeguarding children and young people. The successful candidates will receive regular supervision and be part of a supportive team environment. You will be supported to continue to develop your skills and knowledge.

For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Adoption Service Manager Jane Bolan on 07584 593752

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview.
