The Education Improvement Service is looking for two enthusiastic, proactive professionals to join the team. This is an exciting time to join the service as we begin to transform the way we support and challenge school leaders to secure effective provision and the very best outcomes for children attending Nottinghamshire schools.

Whether you are delivering through our targeted support or our traded offer, you will need to be ambitious for both the service and our schools, ensuring that our leaders get the high-quality support that they deserve. As a core team adviser, you will work alongside school leadership teams to deliver effective school improvement as well as guiding the work of a team of associate advisers supporting our work in schools. This is an opportunity to make a real difference to children attending a wide range of schools across Nottinghamshire, many of whom live in areas of high deprivation and in challenging circumstances.

As a team we are looking for innovative ways to engage with schools. You will be able to contribute to our future programme of support and build on our new approaches including the use of technology to provide a flexible, efficient and effective approach to school improvement.

As an experienced school leader or school improvement adviser you will be confident to:

  • Be the first point of contact within the service for your allocated area, ensuring all stakeholders can access an up to date knowledge of context, provision and outcomes across the districts at all times, to support the work of EIS and other teams across Education, Learning and Skills.
  • Accurately identify school improvement needs using a range of validated data and contextual information.
  • Establish effective, collaborative working relationships with school leaders which will facilitate both support and challenge.
  • Think strategically and lead and coordinate a variety of improvement packages across the districts.
  • Lead CPD in key areas such as school improvement planning, subject leader development etc. for all publicly funded schools in the county.
  • Hold sharply focussed conversations with OFSTED inspectors and other stakeholders.
  • Make a full contribution to the development of the team at this crucial time of change.

Applicants should also note the specific role dimensions as described in the attached job description.
