Opportunities have arisen for experienced mainstream teachers to our very successful Communication and Interaction Team (Autism) Key stage 2-5, part of Nottinghamshire’s Schools and Families Specialist Services.

You would be using your knowledge, skills and experience to develop and deliver effective strategies/interventions aimed at improving outcomes for children and young people with complex communication difficulties associated with the Autism Spectrum in Key stages 2-5.

You would be working at a variety of levels, using positive and inclusive approaches to provide support and advice to school staff and liaising with parents. Support from a team of dedicated specialist teaching assistants ensures that a flexibility of approaches can be offered.

As licence holders for the Autism Education Trust training programme, you would have the opportunity to deliver a national training programme, as well as bespoke training packages.

We welcome applications from highly motivated, creative practitioners, who enjoy working in a collaborative, solution-focussed way from either a primary or secondary teaching background. You will be based with a very supportive team at Sir John Robinson House, Arnold but working across the county as required. At the present time staff are working from home in accordance with national and local COVID guidance.

This is a secondment opportunity for employees working in Nottinghamshire mainstream schools. The secondment would be for 2 terms in the first instance from the 1st September 2021. It is a requirement that you obtain permission from your head teacher in advance before applying.

This post is also available as a secondment opportunity to existing Nottinghamshire County Council employees. You must seek approval from your line manager before applying.
Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.

Nottinghamshire County Council strives to ensure that it goes beyond the requirements of the Equalities Act and prides itself on being accredited as a Disability Confident Leader Organisation.

Therefore, the County Council encourages applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, religion, belief, pregnancy and maternity status, age or sexual orientation.
