We are looking for an administrator to work 22 hours at the back end of the week (Wednesday to Friday) supporting the Fostering Service at Meadow House, Mansfield.

Your main duty will be overseeing the statutory checks process that all new Foster Carers must go through. You will be requesting background information from various employers, family and household members, GPs and referees. Alongside this, the admin team support social workers, Foster Carers and managers with ad hoc admin tasks, such as collating documents and providing information. You will be part of a small team and have support from the wider Fostering team, however, the work is complex and bespoke and therefore you should be motivated to learn about this niche area and become independent over time.

The successful candidate will be well organised, able to multi-task and meet timescales, have admiration for the contribution that Foster Carer’s make to young people’s lives, and be trustworthy with information of an extremely sensitive nature. In return, the candidate will be joining an organisation with excellent employee terms and conditions, eg. flexitime, within a niche area that has a good record of staff retention. You will also be helping to deliver a service of real value to young people from complex backgrounds.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
