The Big House is an eight bedded short break home for children with significant learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviours.  We are based in the village of Edwinstowe, in a purpose built home that opened in 2016.

We are looking for a motivated, individual with the right skills and knowledge to work with our vulnerable children, meeting their emotional, physical and health care needs.  We need someone who is caring, patient and committed to meeting the needs of the children you care for as well as having the ability and resilience to work in what can be a very physically and emotionally challenging environment.  

You must have experience of working with children within a residential setting.  

The post involves working shifts which include weekends and bank holidays.  The shifts are either 7am-2.30pm or 2-10pm on a rota basis, working two weekends out of three, you will also be expected to sleep in when needed.  

We offer enhanced pay for shift work. You will receive a full induction and regular supervision from a manager. You will also receive extensive training and development opportunities.
