The council is looking to appoint a confident and enthusiastic person to undertake a wide range of transport and highways related work to help meet its transport and wider corporate strategic objectives (such as those associated with the economy, environment and health).

Working in the Transport Planning & Programme Development Team, this is a varied and challenging job, and you will be involved in the whole duration of transport work programmes (e.g. the integrated transport and smarter choices programmes). This will include:

  • helping secure funding
  • developing, commissioning and managing work programmes
  • consultation, liaison and negotiation undertaken as part of programme development
  • delivery of these programmes, as well as
  • monitoring of the various programmes delivered by the team.

A degree, chartered status or equivalent experience are essential for the post; as is a minimum three years' experience (post qualification/chartered status eligibility) in transport, planning, and/or an environmental field.
