The Short Breaks Team is part of the Integrated Children's Disability Service and provides short breaks in Nottinghamshire for disabled children and young people aged between 5 and 18 years. The Nottinghamshire Short Breaks Service gives children and young people, who meet the eligibility criteria, the chance to take part in activities, explore new opportunities, form friendships, become more independent and enjoy themselves.

You will work with some of Nottinghamshire’s most vulnerable children and young people providing an integral part of their pathway to adulthood and independence.

The Role:

We are looking for someone who can facilitate and encourage the participation of children, young people and their families with a focus on strength-based practice and that can build on the families own strengths. To undertake person centred assessments which will enable children and young people to meet the goals and outcomes identified in their support plan. You will work in a creative and flexible way which empowers children, young people and families to identify the most appropriate provision utilising an Integrated Personal Budget. You will supervise staff effectively  to secure high levels of performance and demonstrate good leadership skills and promote a high standard of customer service.

About you:

We are looking for a well organised, dynamic and highly motivated individual with enthusiasm to provide positive experiences for disabled children and young people. You will be innovative, solution focused and skilled at liaising with parents and professionals to ensure that every child and young person can develop their own personal achievements.   

You will have proven supervisory experience, including good conflict management skills and an ability to communicate with clarity both in written form and verbally at all levels. You will have experience of multi-agency working and be able to negotiate effectively with other agencies. You must be able to analyse information from a range of sources within timescales to inform and evidence assessment decisions. You must be able to work well in a team and have the ability to reflect on your own work to improve practice. You will be able to manage your own workloads and be able to work flexibly to meet the demands of this role.
