An opportunity has arisen for a Youth Support Worker (DofE) based from the Mill Adventure Base.

The Mill Adventure Base is a well-regarded outdoor education centre and is the base from which Nottinghamshire County Councils awards provision is managed.

The post is for 6 hours a week term time only and involves remote working, although hours will vary dependant on the time of year. The post will focus on promoting awards for young people to schools and groups within Nottinghamshire. This will involve administrative duties, visiting schools & groups for assemblies training and session delivery to staff and young people. There will also be a need to work occasionally during evening and day sessions. There is a travel expenses allowance together with access to relevant training through our bursary scheme.

Experience of working within an education setting with staff and young people together with knowledge and experience of DofE and other awards for young people is highly desirable.
The post would particularly suit someone who is able to work flexibly, is confident and organised with good presentation skills.

For an informal conversation or for further information, please contact the awards Team manager Peter Gurney on 01623 556110 or via email peter.gurney@nottscc.gov.uk

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
