Service Manager - Independent Chair Service
Are you an experienced child care manager?
Do you want to make a difference to children and young people in Nottinghamshire?
The independent chair service plays a key role in providing quality assurance through independent scrutiny and challenge, ensuring that appropriate care plans are in place and being robustly progressed for children and young people looked after or subject to child protection plans.
This important post provides the leadership and management of the independent chair service, which comprises three groups of staff – Child Protection Coordinators (CPCs), Independent Reviewing Officers (IROs) and Fostering Independent Reviewing Officers (FIROs). Currently two service managers provide direct line management to the group. One of these managers is reducing their working hours; we are therefore seeking to employ a part time service manager to maintain the current managerial oversight for this service area.
Alongside responsibilities for the independent chair service you will form part of the leadership team of the Safeguarding Assurance and Improvement group and be involved at a strategic level in a range of activities across the Children and Families Department.
In order to meet the demands of these posts, you will already be an experienced manager in children’s social care with a proven track record of service improvement. You will also need to have outstanding organisational and communication skills, significant knowledge and experience of child protection and looked after children work, and an ability to lead and manage an experienced group of staff.
If you think this is the post for you we look forward to seeing your application
