Lead Learning Manager

Temporary
Full Time - Term Time Only
Until 31st August 2021
Outwood Academy Portland, Netherton Rd, Worksop S80 2SF
£25,595 to £27,662

Outwood Academy Portland places students at the centre of everything it does, with a focus on creating a culture of success, a positive climate for learning and increased student attainment, achievement and social and emotional development.

We have an exciting opportunity for a new role of Lead Learning Manager to join our team. The role will initially be a temporary role for 12 months, but we hope to be able to make this a permanent post. You will be working Term Time Plus 5 days.

You will be required to support learning through the use of data, strategic intervention and monitoring in order to maximise student attainment and will manage our team of Learning Managers. You will work closely with the Inclusion Team and the Vice Principal, Deep Support on Intervention Strategies to support the academic achievement of all students. Your role will ensure that intervention and tracking is effective using the school’s “Praising Stars” system. You will attend case conferences and other meetings regarding students in the academy alongside preparing referrals and reports for those students identified as needing intervention.

You will contribute to an atmosphere of respect, recognition, optimism, celebration and mutual support in the school which promotes equality within and values the diversity of the school community.

Our staff are dedicated to securing the best possible outcomes for every student and are enormously proud of Ofsted’s Outstanding rating awarded in 2014. The academy is ranked well within the top 10% of schools nationally for student progress and in 2019 83% of our students achieved Grade 4 or above in English and Maths.

We are a warm and welcoming academy, where students are placed at the heart of everything. Behaviour across the academy is impeccable. There is an innovative focus on the development of learning and teaching, along with a wealth of exciting curriculum opportunities to ensure that students reach their full potential.

The Academy benefits from being part of the Outwood Family of Schools, which affords opportunities for staff to work and progress across several schools if desired. We will guarantee every member of staff CPD and a further comprehensive programme of professional development is provided through the teaching school at Outwood Grange Academy.

In line with the Government’s announcement, our academy is still not fully open. However, we are still busily planning ahead for the forthcoming academic year and are excited about welcoming new recruits to come and join us. In place of academy-based interviews, we have set up systems to ensure that alternative options are still available via skype/video conferencing wherever possible. Every effort will be made to try to accommodate any specific requirements so that no-one is at a disadvantage.

Understandably, visits to the school are not possible at present, however we are really keen to ensure that you have as much information to proceed with your application as possible, so if you would like a conversation about either the academy or the position please contact Stephen Lambert, Business Manager on 07593 138296 or via email at hr@portland.outwood.com and we will be happy to assist.
