SEN Teaching Assistants (3 posts)
Start date: Wednesday 31st August 2022.
Due to an increase in funding we have 3 posts available in September.
- One permanent SEN TA.
- Two Temporary SEN TA roles (These posts are initially for one year but with the potential to extend).
Experience of working with children with SEN is desirable, the job could also suit a candidate willing to learn
We are looking for someone who will:
- Supervise and provide support for pupils with special needs ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
- Plan and provide practical assistance in relation to identified physical needs
- Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes
- Have high expectations
- Provide excellent communication skills
- Establish a constructive relationship with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils and encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
- Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence
- Have a calm flexible approach
- Provide feedback to pupils and teachers in relation to progress and achievement
- Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils’ work
- Have a great sense of humour!
