Woodthorpe Infants’ School is an outstanding school of 182 pupils, which is seeking to appoint a warm, friendly dedicated Teacher on a fixed term contract to cover Maternity Leave from 5 November 2018 to 31 August 2019, to teach Year 1 pupils. We are looking for someone who is passionate about education for every individual; who will care for and nurture each child whilst fostering their positive attitudes to learning, provide a stimulating and challenging environment and embrace the ethos of the school.

Our children are well disciplined, happy and focused learners and they enjoy the challenges we set, which shows in their enthusiasm and application to learning.

A new Teacher in our team should be:

  • A friendly, positive, approachable, enthusiastic, innovative and self-motivated qualified Teacher
  • passionate about learning and able to support all children to develop emotional security, self-belief and positive social skills
  • an excellent practitioner, having high expectations and good behaviour management strategies
  • experienced in teaching in Key Stage 1 and understands pupils learning needs
  • organised, well planned and have good time management skills
  • understand the importance of assessment and how to use it to ensure progress.
  • committed to team-work and forming excellent relationships with children, parents and colleagues
  • reflective and self-evaluative and prepared to develop practice and assimilate the policies of the School to ensure continuity for pupils
