Child Specific Foster Carer

Permanent
Full Time
Home Based
Up to £600 per week (dependant on skills, experience and needs of the child)

We are looking to recruit foster carers for a number of children aged from 8-14 years who are currently placed in residential care. Some of these children may have had a number of placement breakdowns and as a consequence they may experience emotional and attachments issues.  These children will benefit from a therapeutic approach to fostering.

All foster carers are required to undertake training and an assessment as part of the approval process which takes approximately six months from date of application.

Experience of working with young people with complex emotional and behavioural needs, either in a related professional context (e.g. teaching, youth work, social care) or as an experienced foster carer is desirable.

Nottinghamshire County Council will offer up to £600 per week (equivalent of up to £31k per annum). The financial package will be looked at as part of the assessment process and will be based on the skills and experience of the applicant and the needs of the child whom they are being linked to.

If you are an existing foster career for another agency we would be happy to discuss the possibility of you transferring to us.

All foster carers are self-employed and are eligible for generous tax benefits and National Insurance credits which counts towards your State Pension. For further details visit https://www.gov.uk/foster-carers/help-with-the-cost-of-fostering.

You will need to contact the fostering team on 0115 8044 440 or email fostering@nottscc.gov.uk who will provide a fostering information pack and take further details to progress to an initial visit from a fostering worker
