This is an exciting opportunity to join the Adoption East Midlands adoption support team, where you can make a positive impact on the lives of adopted children, young people, and their families. We are seeking a qualified and experienced registered social worker who possesses strong assessment skills and a solid understanding of safeguarding. You will be part of a motivated and supportive multi-disciplinary team, working to support families through the lifelong journey of adoption and developmental trauma.

As a Social Worker in Adoption Support, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building positive relationships with families and children.
  • Conducting holistic assessments in partnership with families and professionals.
  • Identifying needs and developing tailored support plans.
  • Delivering core support services and learning events.
  • Collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to enhance service delivery.
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices and legislation.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BA in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ post-qualifying experience in statutory social work with children and families.
  • Strong interpersonal and assessment skills.
  • Knowledge of the lifelong nature of adoption and developmental trauma.
