Team Manager- ICDS

Nottinghamshire County Council’s Integrated Children’s Disability Service (ICDS) are looking to recruit a dynamic and creative individual with the skills and experience to provide strategic leadership and effective management of a range of statutory and regulated education and social care services. The Integrated Children’s Disability Service was established in 2016, in response to the SEND Reforms 2014, and brings together a number of services to provide a coordinated response to meeting the needs of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. The successful applicant will be pivotal to the fulfillment of this vision, and to the continued progression of Nottinghamshire’s SEND Strategic Action Plan.

The post holder will be required to lead and manage the teams under his/her control in achieving the highest standards and practice in work with children and young people with disabilities and their families, ensuring that at all times children and young people are at the heart of service provision and development.

We require the individual to have the following:

• Considerable knowledge of SEN related legislation, predominantly focusing on the Children and Families Act 2014 and its code of practice.
• Experience of managing statutory assessment teams, including the management and monitoring of performance against internal and statutory standards and timelines, and quality assurance processes.  
• Ability to manage the competing demands of a range of services including; Children’s Occupational Therapy and the statutory Education, Health and Care Assessment duty, and to interpret and implement legislation and policy competently.
• Ability to monitor progress and achievement of service objectives and goals.
• A commitment to co-production both on an individual case basis and at strategic level, and to the provision of excellent customer service.
• Ability to maintain and quality assure data systems, and to make cohesive business cases for change and resources.  
• Ability to lead a culture of continuous service improvement and to implement change.
• Experience and ability to provide appropriate challenge and support to statutory partners, including head teachers and health colleagues.
