The role: 

This is an exciting opportunity working directly with the Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executive, Members and with the Council Leadership playing a key role in Strategy Development and helping to shape our next Council Plan. Activities will include designing and delivering major research, influencing policy development and coordinating responses to national and local consultations. Providing advice to senior leaders, stakeholders and decision makers, researching and monitoring local government strategies and policies. You could be working on strategies across a range of issues and sectors. 

About You: 

We are looking for a flexible, proactive, solution-orientated professional who has a good understanding of political structures, is ambitious, up to date with social, political and economic developments and has excellent written and spoken communication skills. 

You will be able to work to a high standard both in preparing and writing strategies and in briefing and presenting to Members and Senior Officers. 

You will be able to think creatively to come up with new ideas to provide solutions to complex problems and to work across different disciplines. You will be highly organised and have excellent interpersonal skills and have experience of working and building relations with a wide range of people.
