An exciting opportunity has arisen in the fostering service for a part-time Fostering Social Work Support Officer. Applicants will be enthusiastic, creative and flexible. The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills, good administration and IT skills and the ability to communicate effectively, whilst maintaining confidentiality.

You will be responsible for supporting a team of social work staff and communicating with foster carers and staff within the service. Recording, report-writing and IT skills are essential requirements, along with an ability to work on your own initiative and as an effective member of a team.

Applicants must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and have an understanding and commitment to the County Council’s Equal opportunities policy. It will be advantageous for applicants to have some experience working within children's social care.

Appointment to these posts is subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service disclosure. The Fostering Futures team is based at Home Brewery Building in Nottingham although travel throughout the county will be required. The post will carry an authorised car user allowance or taxi service for disabled people.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
