This is a county wide team that sits within the Integrated Children's Disability service. As the OT Manager, you will be expected to provide line management to a dynamic team of Occupational Therapists and OT Assistants who empower Children and Young People (CYP) and place them at the centre of their decision making. You will also be expected to manage additional associated specialist services and their budgets: such as adaptations in schools and the wider community and OT services within respite and Looked After Care settings. 

You will take managerial responsibility for operational decisions, ensuring that the service delivers a fair. equitable and timely service to children, young people and their families, whilst meeting statutory duties.  You will need to manage the expectations of families whose children have a disability and address and respond to any complaints that may be received. You will be an integral way of working with other teams within ICDS. You will be expected to be responsible for reviewing the service and bring options for service improvement and efficiencies to the forefront for consideration.

You will need to have excellent knowledge of managing complex DFG. You will have to gain a thorough understanding of the roles and responsibilities of several District councils and be constant in trying to develop consistent practice whilst managing the impact of their policy decisions on our CYP and their families  and our service.

We are looking for a highly motivated worker with enthusiasm to improve services for children, young people and their families with disabilities. You should have a minimum 4 years post graduate experience as a qualified OT and have experience and knowledge of working with children and young people with disabilities.  You will have experience of managing staff and chairing meetings. You should be highly skilled in communicating and children/young people as well as a range of agencies and professionals. You will need to demonstrate your ability to make difficult managerial decisions and prioritise case work evidencing managerial reasoning.
