Fixed Term Promoting Independence Worker

The Notts Enabling Service provide short term ( up to 12 weeks) goal focused enablement to young adults with learning or physical disabilities, people in transition from children's to adult services and individuals with a diagnosis of Aspergers or Autism.

PIW’s work with younger adults to enable them to foster and maintain independence in all areas of their lives such as daily living skills, social inclusion, travel training and work/education opportunities. PIW’s use a strengths based approach to enable service users to build on existing skills to develop independence and achieve goals in a safe and measured way using graded techniques such as with travel training.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a developing service that has achieved much since being launched in 2017. We are looking for an enthusiastic and forward thinking individual who is looking for a challenging and rewarding role. The preferred candidate will have good communication and record keeping skills, and social care experience through paid employment or  voluntary work. You can expect a supportive team environment and you will receive regular supervision, both formally and informally. There will be opportunity to attend training and development pertinent to the role. The work will entail seeing service users in their own home as well as in the community so you will need to hold a driving license and have the regular use of a vehicle which is mandatory for this post.
