What are we looking for?
Futures are recruiting for an Education, Training and Employment adviser to work within Nottinghamshire Youth Justice Service supporting young people aged between 10 to 18 years of age who are involved in the Youth Justice Service. The aim is to support this cohort to make positive life choices, and raise aspirations, and engage in education, employment and training. You will work alongside partner agencies, to deliver a coordinated approach supporting young people to access and maintain education, employment and training opportunities, taking into account their additional needs.

The successful candidate will need to have a good understanding of young people who have offending histories, and the barriers that may affect their opportunities. You will need to build a network and relationship with local partners, and have the ability to identify and record agreed outcomes. Additionally, you will promote the service with local partners and organisations, to build the referrals coming through our service. It’s essential for the candidate to have a ‘can-do’, proactive and flexible style of working.

Job Specification Requirements
The successful candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of a level 3 Careers Guidance qualification (desired).
  • Ability to use computer systems effectively (word processing, databases, email and internet).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (particularly effective communication, flexibility, adaptability and initiative skills).
  • Able to manage time and caseload whilst maintaining quality policy and procedural standards.
  • Effective administrative, organisational and planning skills.
  • A positive, approachable team player with a can-do attitude.
